June 2010
June was a busy and enjoyable month for us. The summer weather started early this year so we’ve had a lot of time outdoors. Soccer also wrapped up this month, which has been bittersweet. I’m glad to be done with running around but the kids will truly miss their teams and the weekly practices and games. Jade’s team did really well. If they’d been running for trophies they would have been 1st place. Jordan’s team was the complete opposite but despite it all he never stopped working hard and trying to be a good defender. We were proud of both of them and really glad that Jeramis could be home for their final games. Jade had her Daisy Scout cross over to Brownies and end of year party. She is so excited to be a ‘real’ brownie’ now. Jordan has officially left the ranks of elementary school. He graduated from 5th grade on the 17th. School ran late into the summer this year because of all the snow days so Jade’s official last day was the 18th. I took her out of school and took the kids to Six Flags instead. I think they both liked that. Jordan’s birthday party theme this year was LEGO. So we had a “BUILD YOUR OWN” party with Build-it-your-way sandwiches, a LEGO cake and LEGO-themed games during the party. He had a great time and his friends were all full of good cheer for him. I can’t believe he’s 11 now. On his actual birthday Jordan brought one friend and we headed out to Six Flags for the day. That night he crossed over to 11-year-old Scouts. So the month was filled with us going to Six Flags, hanging out at the house and beach and spending time together. Jeramis decided that we should make a family vacation happen before summer got real crazy. Niagara Falls, Canada sounded too good to pass up so we planned the trip. See the next blog post for all the details.
