Goodbye October and November-WOW

Time flies. I keep telling myself I'll "update" the blog... yet here it is way way way past due and no update until today. haha. I so procrastinate. Shame shame.

Life has been eventful and fun for us. October saw the end of Jordan's first part of track and the beginning of "fun times" (just a bit of sarcasim in there... mostly true though!) for me and the kids all November.

Jordan and Jade had a great time on Halloween. They loved dressing up and trick-or-treating. Jordan was a Ninja Turtle (Leonardo if I recall properly) and Jade was a Princess for the first two nights of celebration (explaination to come) and then she choose to be Clifford the dog on the 31st.

We had a long Halloween. Jordan's school had a Autumn festival with all the Halloween fun included. They had a haunted house which we actually went through... in the daylight! hah. Jade was a bit unsure of it all but Jordan enjoyed it. Then we trick-or-treated at all the classrooms. I had expected it to be just a small ordeal but as it turns out the children received so much candy they didn't have enough room in the buckets for it. *Note to self*- do not buy candy to hand out on Halloween, simply collect and use the candy from Jordan's School! LOL We did recycle about half of it but that hardly made a dent in the pile since the children received more candy on halloween eve as well. We also went to Jordan's Kung Fu school for a pot-luck Halloween party. That was great fun and Jade won the costume contest for the 'cutest' kid costume and she got a flashlight which is now a hot commodity in our home. She loves it.

After Halloween was over I was faced with entertaining a very busy 6 year old. Jordan (or JJ as they call him at school and Kung Fu) had a lot of questions for me during his track break. He was We were able to kill about 2 hours there! Not to mention we got some yummy chocolate! The kids really liked that so I told them we'll go back every time he's on break. We also went to a fire station and the kids were able to explore all the trucks and ambulances and the station as well. They really enjoyed that. The firemen that gave us the tour were very nice and patient with the kids. We also saw a fireman playing the bagpipes. Jordan and Jade had never seen that before so it was a very interesting event for them! My friend, Zee, who works there was so thoughtful and provided them with goodie bags full of great fire safety information and coloring opportunites and of course 2 fire hats. The kids spent the next few days coloring in their books and filling out the packets inside. Jordan had us create a fire escape plan for our home. He was really into it and I just loved watching him take pride in something so important. Jade just liked "playing" fire in the house. LOL Too much fun!

The next week Jordan lost his 2nd tooth! Also on the bottom. So he has a big gap. He was SO excited. He had enough money to go to a local shop here and buy another package of army men. He has collected almost every set they have now and sets them up around the house. He really finds creative ways to use them. I supose I should be glad :) despite all the tiny peices!

My parents came out to visit for the week of Thanksgiving. That was such a treat. It was wonderful to have them here and both Jade and Jordan found many opportunites to drag them around the house to play. Grandma and Grandpa were very willing! It was so fun watching them interact. Jade is much more talkative now and a bit sassy :) (wonder where she gets that from *feigning innocence*) I have to laugh often as she phrases things in a three year old manner. She's very fun. I think she has both grandma and grandpa wrapped around her little finger.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving day meal and spent a great deal of time talking and sharing memories. Thanksgiving is definately a time where I realize just how blest I am. Unfortunately Grandma and Grandpa had to leave Friday morning. I spent the day preparing for Jade's birthday party.

We celebrated her turning 3 on Saturday (a day shy of her actual birthday) She had a princess party with all the grandure a princess should have. We made crowns and had a 'grace race' where the kids put books on their heads and tried to walk as far as they could without dropping the book. We went outside and played "Pony Tails" (the kids had to pull tails off eachother and collect them - great game for getting energy out!) They also played "Pin your flag on the Castle" Each game had a winner and it was lots of fun to watch the kids interact. We were also blest to have our cousins at the party. They made it extra special for Jade! We had several friends stop by to wish her a happy day and then the party ended with cake, ice cream and presents. It was a great time.

After the party Jeramis and I cleaned up and I picked up a sitter and we headed downtown to see Paul McCartney perform. The concert itself was fantastic - despite the fact that the seats that the venue were a bit uncomfortable. (My butt fell asleep at least 4 times! haha I was always willing to stand up when someone had to leave our row!) His openning act was disappointing was some DJ was doing remix's of his music in a culb format. It might have been a good openner if there was space for dancing but to sit and listen to it for 25 minutes was a bit disappointing.... and we weren't alone in our thoughts as many others around us were just a bit surprised and unsure of why that was the openner LOL. Paul made up for it though! His show and his music was fantastic and I'd say about 25% of the time Paul was solo on the stage playing. That was just cool. I didn't realize how much of his music I loved until the concert. There were so many songs I new and have always loved hearing... now they are just that much better. He came out for about 5 encores. Each time he'd play a few more songs and leave the stage. He closed with Srgt. Peppers Lonely Heart club. It was defiantely a great event and I'm so glad Jeramis thought to get tickets. Super!

Jordan started school back up Monday and that has been a big relief. He really likes school despite not always wanting to go. Jade misses him but we keep busy.

So here it is December 1st and again I'm going to "TRY" to post on this more often. Life should be settling down some for us :) We shall see!
