Where Have We Been (June and July Updates!)

It is hard to believe that the end of August nears and I've not been on the blog since June! This has been a very busy summer for us. I didn't expect to have so much going on but between Year Round school and unexpected (But much enjoyed) company we have been running nonstop!

So to recap the summer quickly I'm going to give you a run down of each month! ENJOY!

June's End

We were sad to have to say Goodbye to Grandma Vicki. It was SO nice to have her out here visiting. We really enjoyed having her around. The kids had fun playing games and spending time with her. Jeramis and I really enjoyed it too. We really relaxed and had some fun. (Thanks MOM!) While she was here we also visited briefly with Brett and Anna.

Jordan had a great 7th birthday party at the waterpark. We had about 17 kids come out for the party. The weather was fantastic. We played some fish-related games and had a pinata. The kids played in the water and had pizza and "coral reef" cake.

For Jordan's birthday we turned his room into a coral reef. So he headed out to school that morning and came home to find his room transformed into a coral reef, complete with dolphins, whales and fish. Not sure how long the decor will last on his walls but he's loving it right now! (You'll see some pictures of it later in the blog)

The following Monday after his party we went over to our cousin's house (Brett and Anna) and were able to have a 'mini' reunion with a bunch of our 2nd cousins that were out here visiting from Oregon. It was really fun to see them all!

JULY

July came quick. We had a great 4th of July. The children loved the fireworks. Jeramis let Jordan and Jade light fireworks this year. The kids thought that was great! I thought it was funny to see them get all excited... but I was also a little nervous considering the danger involved. Everything went fine and we did enjoy our evening.

Jordan has been reading a lot. He likes to sit on his bed (in his "coral cave") and read his books about the ocean. Jade will crawl up next to him and enjoy his stories.

The following week we were informed that my great-Aunt had passed away. Her funeral was here in Las Vegas and I was able to attend it, along with Mom who flew out to be there. Despite the circumstances it was really great to meet some of my 2nd cousins and to see my mother and aunt.

Mom stuck around for the weekend. It was really nice to have her out here. She hadn't seen the new house and so it was nice to show her around :) We really had fun spending time with her as well. The kids really kept her busy but we managed to squeeze in a lot of catch-up time :)

It was hard to say goodbye to my mother as well but we know we'll see her again soon :)

Jordan returned to school for the last month of 1st grade. We had to take him out of school for a few days at the end of July so that we could go on our family vacation.....

Where did we go?

SAN DIEGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yup, that's right... and it was beautiful, wonderful and SO much better than the dead and dry desert!

We took Jordan and Jade to the beach and to Sea World... I must say BOTH were great events but I have a few pages of our Sea World pictures to share for now. Jordan was IN HEAVEN at Sea World. He loved it so much (and is still talking about it). He had so much fun with all the aspects of what Sea World had to offer. He would have lived there if we'd let him. Jade also enjoyed Sea World but she was sad that she was too small to ride the rides. Of all the things we saw there she loved the HORSES! That was her favorite thing.

This trip was fantasic. We loved it so much. The kids still ask if we can move to San Diego (wouldn't that be nice!)

I'll write about August in the next post :) Hope you enjoy this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
