The August Adventure

So, as you can see, the past months have been busy!
August was no different than June and July.

Jordan finished school the second week of August. He graduated 1st grade and received the Principal's Award for being an avid reader and great helper. He was very surprised to get that award. We were able to all go to his award ceremony. We are so proud of him!

He was sad to say goodbye to his teacher. He really liked her a lot. She's moving up to 3rd grade next year and he'll be able to see her around school. We found out he is moving to a different track for next year (which is actually started at the end of August) and has a really great teacher lined up.

Jade was excited to have Jordan home again. She likes being able to bug him... I mean "play" with him. Haha. Poor Jordan. He's so good to put up with her antics. For the most part they really do get along well and they had fun being together during his "summer" break (of only 2 1/2 weeks. jee whiz) Jordan thought it was weird that he was going into 2nd grade so soon. Track definately takes some time to get accustom to... I'm still not a fan.

During Jordan's 'summer' vacation we went to see the Sharks again. He likes that a lot. We also went to a local conservatory and took pictures of the kids there. We spent a lot of time in the pool and playing outside.

Toward the end of the month I went back to my 'home town' for my 10 year HS Reunion. That was fun. I haven't been back to that town for a long time... probably 7 or 8 years at least. Shortly after Jeramis and I got married my parents moved to Southern California and later to the Mid-West, so "home" is a relative place now. But going back was a great opportunity for me to take pictures of all the places and things I use to go do. It was also great to visit with old friends! It has been a long time since I've seen them and to catch up was such a treat. I'd wished we could have all gone back but this time it was just easier for me to go alone. Next time perhaps :)

When I returned we prepared for Jordan to start 2nd grade. That Wednesday school started and he officially became a 2nd grader :) He was excited and his teacher is really great. Every day he has so much fun. When I picked him up after school the first day he told me he had asked his teacher if he could stay at school until Friday because he "didn't want to go home because school was too much fun!" It was cute. He also has a very very wiggly tooth that is nearly out.. :)
I have some more pictures to post from this month, I'll put them in my next entry :)
I'll post again soon!
