October Came and Went!

Wow. October was one of the fastest months! I cannot believe it is already November. We had some really interesting weather in October with some really neat rainbows. The pictures don't do this rainbow justice as it was a huge double rainbow that stretched across the entire eastern portion of the valley. It was really pretty :)
We had a really busy October. The month started out with Jordan tracking out. That weekend our friend Anna Aspnes flew in from Alaska for a local show. We spent some time hanging out and catching up. It was great. The week was busy as I spent most of it at the show meeting people and checking out the latest and greatest items for scrapping :)
That Friday I took the kids up to the Mountain here. It was beautiful. The weather was crisp. We'd planned to hike but after starting up the trail about 5 minutes some really dark clouds rolled in and within a few seconds we were being rained on, then hailed on, then snowed on.... needless to say we ran back down the trail and headed over to the local lodge. We got in side and warmed up by the fire and had some lunch. We then enjoyed some hot chocolate and dessert while we watched the mountain transform from an autumn decor to a bit of winter flare. The snow where we were at didn't stick but up the mountainside you could see the first snow of the season. Yippee. We loved it. Unfortunately we didn't get to hike!

The following week I took the kids out to the lake and we walked around the village there. It was another lovely day here in the high 60's.

We came home and prepared for the next day... Jordan's surgery.

On the 19th Jordan has his tonsils and adenoids removed. It was an interesting day for us. Jordan was a little nervous but the doctors and nurses were fantastic. They answered all his questions at each visit and the day of the surgery they did everything in their powers to make him comfortable. The doctor ( I think he was great! ) actually took my camera into the OR and took pictures of Jordan's tonsils for us. (Because Jordan wanted to know what they looked like!) So that was your warning that the next photo is of the tonsils HAHA. Hope it was soon enough :)
I'll add a few spaces just in case

Hope no one puked! heh I thought these were some cool pictures. Poor Jordan though. They said that the overall size of his tonsils were those of golf balls. But the picture shows them coming in at around an inch and a half in length. (of course they were cleaned up a bit for the photo I think)
The recovery was a bit harder. He definately wasn't a happy camper for about 10 days. On day 8 we had to go back to the hospital to get more medication. Thankfully they increased his dose and by Sunday (day 10) he was feeling much better. We did manage on day 7 to head over to his school for the 'trick or treat' night and on day 9 to our church for trunk-or-treat. We decorated the house day 8 and we all got into the Halloween mood this year with costumes that match... and of course they are from Jordan and Daddy's favorite TV show- NARUTO!
(At the school event Jade wanted to be Clifford and Jordan was Naruto but the other two nights Jade was a "ninja princess girl" hah. Pictures to follow)

Jeramis Jordan and Jade in costume

That sunday (day 10 for Jordan) we carved our pumpkins and of course on Halloween we were ready to go out and trick or treat.

Jordan has been singing "All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth" :) We've been enjoying teasing him when he whistles.

What a crazy month October turned out to be! November will bring Jordan back to school, Jade will start preschool 2 days a week and of course, the holidays, a visit from Grandma Vicki, Jeramis' trip to Japan, Jade's birthday and I'm sure SO MUCH MORE!
Stay Tuned!
