Way Overdue! Time to Catch up.

I have finally come up for air! I know it has been months since I posted last but life has been quite interesting here on the homefront.

www.scrapbookdimensions.com (check it out first then read on!)

This is the latest thing in my life! At the end of December I was offered the opportunity to be the Managing Editor for Scrapbook Dimensions Magazine. It is a brand new publication that focuses on blending traditional and digital scrapbooking together. I'm very excited about being involved with the magazine and watching it grow from the ground up! It has been a big job though with many hours dedicated to working on all aspects of the magazine. I'm loving it but wow! It is a lot of work! :) I'm asking family and friends to check it out and if it is something you will benefit from or you know another who would please encourage people to sign up. The premiere issue was free (and can still be received for free) and subscriptions are also available. I'm really looking forward to watching this become great magazine for all levels of scrapbookers!

Okay, so enough about me! Let's play catch-up!

December

Christmas was SO much fun. We had so many gifts under the tree that they were spewing out around the front room. We had the opportunity to spend a lovely afternoon with our cousins Brett and Anna. It was really great to have them here for some 'holiday' celebrating.

We (perhaps I should say I) got very Christmasy after the snow fell in December and it made the season much more 'real.' Christmas Eve and Christmas Day was lovely. We really enjoyed ourselves. Everyone was spoiled with gifts... some brought back from Japan and others that had been hidden away during the year. It was fun to watch the children get excited as they unwrapped the many wonderful things from family and friends as well as from each other. They both really got into the idea of 'buying' gifts for other people this year. Next year will be even more fun as they are already planing gifts for EVERYONE! hah. Santa was extremely generous this year... we must have been extra good!

After Christmas we enjoyed a bit of quiet while we spent time as a family during the holiday break. My birthday was enjoyable. We had a nice little celebration here at home and a few friends and family members phoned in. (Thanks) The kids and Jeramis bought me a lovely chocolate ice cream cake and some thoughtful gifts.

New Years Eve we watched fireworks on the TV that were being shot off outside. With little children going out the celebration wasn't as fun as staying in. I was surprised but both Jade and Jordan made it up to Midnight. They wore party hats and blew their horns to celebrate the New Year although I don't think it made much sense to Jade. hah.

New Years Day we were delighted to have our friends Lindsay, Mark, Robby and Natalie Potterf come visit. They were out here for vacation and came around on the 1st to spend time and visit. It was really nice to see them and we had a good visit. Later in the week Jade and I had a chance to hang out with them again which was really nice and we bought the "amazing shamey" which TOTALLY lives up to its name. I've mopped up half a gallon of spilled milk with mine and washed it for reuse. (That's only one thing I've used it for... I could list at least 30!) That was $11 well spent! heh

January was a busy month. Jordan was back to school, Jade was back to preschool, Jeramis was back to work and of course I had just started my 'new' job. (Still doing the other stuff in the background!) I found out I had to go to Anaheim for CHA Winter and so I made plans for the children to be tended by our friends Myrna, Brian and Kristy Mace. Myrna was about 34 weeks along - she really went above and beyond! hah.

During this same timeframe we were sad to learn that Jeramis Uncle was not doing well and a few days before I left he passed away. It was a sad time for us as it is always difficult to say goodbye to a family member. I know it has been hard for many of our relatives as they have mourned the loss of a brother, son, uncle, cousin, etc.

A moment of silence please.

We also had a martial arts seminar the Friday and Saturday before I left for Anaheim. Bob Fraiser, whom Jeramis trained under in Japan, came out and taught us a great seminar. It was awesome to train. I think Jeramis really enjoyed it because he was able to be a 'student' for a change rather than the teacher.

I dont' know if I shared this before but Jeramis was promoted to 6th degree Black Belt during his trip to Japan in November. It is wonderful to see him progressing and enjoying the martial art so much.

After the seminar and my trip to Anaheim February was already here! Wow. The magazine's Premiere issue released the first part of February which tied up a lot of my time. Additionally Jordan went on track break. Ahh the joys. So we spent February doing some fun things together like playing outside, going to local sites, etc. Both Jade and Jordan enjoyed having time together. We also read a lot. I really like reading with the kids. It is fun to curl up with them and just read. Sometimes we get carried away and 2 or 3 hours later we realize we've been reading for a long time! Whenever possible I worked as well. Jeramis job also was busy in February.

March has been a busy month as well. Jordan went back to school the first week in. I attended another convention for the magazine. On the 10th we were able to go see Eric Clapton in concert. It was a GREAT concert! Really neat to see him live. Grandpa Don came out the next monday and visited us for the week. It was a nice visit and we spent some time site-seeing. :) I think the children wore him out though hahah. Between playing Hero-scape and having Jade climb all over him... poor Grandpa! hah.

Tonight we celebrated our 9th anniversary. We had such a nice time. We had a delicious meal and lovely cake and spent time with the kids. It was quiet but it was really nice.

While I'm sure there is a lot I can add to this, I just want to get the update UP! So you can read it and get a bit caught up. I'll have to add more when I can.

Also, if you are interested, I run another blog www.kristimcfadden.blogspot.com You can go there to see updates more related to scrapbooking, me personally, and of course Scrapbook Dimensions Magazine.

Looking forward to being back on track with everyone. Sorry for the long break in posting. Remember you can leave a comment if you want to. I often read comments to the kids and it helps me see if people are really visiting!

Love to all,
K
