March, April and Starting on May!
Okay... again over another month has passed. I keep meaning to come back and post here but time eludes me. We'll see if this month can be better! LOL
Going back to March -
I mentioned we had the chance to see Eric Clapton. Here are a few photos from the concert:
We had a great concert. It was nice to go out with Jeramis and enjoy some music. Clapton was fantastic as were the other musicians playing with him.
March had a spell of nice weather and Don was out visiting us so we went over to the pool at his hotel and went swimming. I ran across a company at a recent trade show that has come out with affordable underwater cases for point and shoot cameras (like my little Sony DSC-N2 Cybershot.) So I purchased a case to try out... they retail at about $35 dollars if I remember and I was able to buy it for $20 at the show. Super cool. I tested it there first before bringing it home but I will admit it was a bit freaky to drop my lovely 10 mega-pixel camera into the water LOL... So this swimming event was my first time to actually use it in a real situation. I had so much fun though. I was able to not only take pictures but also video clips with it and the volume was fine... a little muted but okay... EVEN UNDERWATER! woah!
Here are two pictures from the swimming event:
We had a nice visit with Don and really enjoyed the warm up of the weather for a while before it turned cool again. Funny weather this year don't you think? It has been really abnormal. We've hit record highs and record lows all in the same week... odd stuff.
Our anniversary was great. Jeramis and I celebrated our 9th year married. The kids were very funny about it, excited to celebrate despite the fact that I don't think they fully understand it all yet.
March ended nicely and rolled into April. Jordan had a nice spring break. We had fun with him and played a lot. Then, of course, Easter came.
The kids enjoyed easter a lot this year. We had our usual Easter Egg Hunt in the yard, dyed eggs, etc. But this year we were able to share it with some friends living out here. It was great to have them with us for the holiday.
Of course April, like March, had unusually warm weather and then unusually cold weather. We did enjoy it though and spent time outdoors. The kids have been enjoying their bikes and bike gear. (Thanks to the Butchers for Jade's bike and Grandma Vicki for Jordan's bike and all the gear.) The kids want to spend all the time they can on them. It's good for them - I just wish I had more time to spend outdoors WITH them rather than making them come in. Ah me!
Here are the kids on their bikes:
With Spring comes the Spring Carnival at Jordan's school. We had a good time. The kids are so funny. They love the games and the prizes. We play a good amount, usually spend 1 -2 hours there and come home happy and full of hot dogs and cotton candy.
I was invited in April to go to a local school for their Career Day. I had a good time sharing information with the kids about running your own business, working for a magazine, and so forth. Many of the kids thought it was funny when I told them that I could work in my pajamas if I wanted too LOL. Kids are funny.
A picture of me doing what I do best: TALKING hahahahaha:
May came quickly. I can't quite tell you what happend to April. The Magazine (Scrapbook Dimensions Magazine) is officially out in print! I can't believe it. Some copies were sent to me and when I opened the box I just wanted to giggle. It is so neat to see all the work in the final product. The magazine is great and I'm excited to see what other think about it. If you want to get a copy you can subscribe to the magazine by going to www.scrapbookdimensions.com and heading into the shoppe. You'll have to make an account (username and password) to use the shop (and a seperate name for the forums, etc so don't get confused if you have one for one place and it doesn't work in the other LOL) But they have already shipped the April/May issue out.. of course they will continue to ship them as people subscribe too. A few local stores have copies out already.. it is neat!
Another wonderful thing. Jeramis has officially finished his Bachelors Degree!!!!!!!!!!!! His last class for it ended April 27th. He has recieved notice that he got a 3.6! I'm so proud of him and I'm sure he'd love to hear congratulations from anyone that would like to tell him! He has truly worked hard to finish and it has been difficult with doing it while working full time and teaching Martial Arts part time. He will continue on to his master degree but I believe that he will wait a little while at least.
Speaking of Martial Arts... another fun tidbit... We had a seminar just a few days ago with a man named Joseph Adriance. He came out here from Texas. He's a 15th degree black belt in our form and was an amazing person to learn from. I really enjoyed the seminar and I know Jeramis did too. Here is a picture of the group that trains with us and the man in the middle, next to Jeramis, is Joseph.
Oh and in case you wondered, I am wearing a belt... but it is no longer red as I recently (the middle of April) advanced to Shodan level (1st Degree Black belt!) It's really excited to get to that point... I still have much to learn and a long way to go but it is a milestone and I'm excited to continue!
I wanted to have a few cute pictures of the kids to offer at the end of this post but when I asked them to pose I ended up with a more "goofy" photo shoot than anticipated. Oh well, kids will be kids LOL!
Scrapbook Dimensions offers a free desktop wallpaper each month. You can customize them with your own pictures by opening them in a photo editing program and slipping your pictures behind the designed page. Here's a sample of the page which you can download at the magazine website if you want it :)
As I always say... I'm going to TRY to post sooner and more often but since I have YET to actually be good at that I'm not going to promise anything LOL.
Hope you all are having a great month. Feel free to post a comment for me, the kids or Jeramis... Or just email us :)
Lots of love,
K
