Mid April through Mid May 09
Okay I know I don't post often enough but at least when I do post there's lots, right? I'll admit this post is full of mostly pictures of Jasper. I can't help it. He's so cute and let's face it, you've seen lots of pictures of the rest of us. Okay, onto the update.
April was one of my favorite months here. I think it's due to the cherry tree's blooming. I wanted to take the kids downtown to the cherry blossom festival that they have but it just didn't work out. Luckily there's a few lovely trees that blossomed - just for me ! *wink wink* - right near our back yard. So I did get a few shots of the blooms. I'd hoped to get a better photo of Jas in the trees but I had to rely on the kids to help and, well, this was the best I could get.

When Jeramis' dad visited we went down to the monuments and I snapped this shot of Jeramis with Jas. It's nice having time with the two of them while the bigger ones are in school. I like having us all together, don't get me wrong, but it is also really nice to have separate time as well.

Jasper is getting so big. It's hard to believe at the end of May he'll already be 4 months... (Well actually that'll be as of next week since May's end is almost here!) He's been trying to roll onto his sides now for about a month. He started about mid-April going from one side to the other. He can now (as of last Monday 5/18) flip from his tummy to his back. He doesn't do it "all the time" but he's done it a few times this week. On his back he'll roll himself around in a circle. The kids think it is funny because we'll lay him down one way and within a few minutes he's facing another. This week he also found his toes. Tuesday 5/19 I found him in his crib holding one foot and swinging the other one around. He grabs his toes now while I'm changing his diaper or when I try to change his clothes. He still seems shocked, when he gets his toes, that he actually has grabbed something. He is also holding on to toys very well now and will put everything in his mouth. He likes squishy toys like stuffed animals but he also has found a few rattles and teethers that fit well in his hands. Everything has drool on it.

Jas loves his daddy-time. I do too. Jeramis awesome about taking him and spending time with him. I like it because it is baby-free time for me. (until he's hungry) It's great. Now whenever Jas hears Jeramis' voice he'll crane his head around and look until he can find him. He's actually doing that with all of us and if we say, "Where's Jade" or "Can you see Jordan", etc. he'll look until he finds the person who we're asking about. I'm not sure if he really understands us or if it is just coincident or whatnot but the fact that he finds the right face is pretty neat.

Jordan and Jade are becoming quite the little helpers. They will get Jas out of his crib in the morning and play with him. Sometimes they are quiet enough I catch a few extra bits of sleep... sometimes LOL... most of the time I end up awake listening to them giggle and I can't help but laugh or smile. Jordan is funny because he'll take Jas into his room and set up his toys around him or he'll bring him to the couch and cuddle with him while he watches cartoons. Jade usually gets him out and puts him on the floor with his toys and she'll sit there and talk with him or rock him in her lap. She'll even change his diaper and clothes!

Jasper has dimples on his shoulders just like Jordan. They are turning out to be just about as deep as his too. Jade has some but they are not as defined. Jas is also getting the baby-rolls. I love it!
Oh and joy-of-joy's Jasper has found his thumb and he is now sleeping mostly through the night. I tend to get a good 5 or 6 hour stretch now. (most of the time) Now that he's found his thumb he'll sometimes use it at night instead of crying for me. He's also keen on plunking it in his mouth throughout the day too. I think it's darling. He makes the cutest smacking noises and little sounds of pleasure as he sucks away on it. He hasn't been big on the pacifier and I think he just prefers his thumb to plastic.
The kids like to play with Jas after school. They always want to give him hugs and kisses when they get home and before they leave. I wish they'd never loose their sense of wonder over him... I know they will but I wish they wouldn't!
He likes to blow bubbles, even in his sleep. He's also totally a drool-monger now.
Melissa has encouraged me to get into sewing and has helped me with some ideas for mending Jade's jeans. (Jade blows holes into the knees of her jeans quicker than I can buy them!) She makes all sorts of cute stuff for her girls ( she has 3 girls! ) Anyhow, this "new look" for jeans was a big hit for Jade. She liked them a lot and it has extended the life of her jeans for a while longer. I also made her a skirt, mended another pair of jeans and I've been making some blankets and burp cloths. I've got some plans for curtains next and then back to clothes and repairs for Jade and maybe a skirt or two for me.

We've had some really nice days of weather here and I've been enjoying long walks in the morning. Jasper is really interested in all the sounds outside but eventually he'll fall asleep in the stroller. When we get home he's all about playing and of course he's full of smiles these days and he giggles when we tickle him. (Really funny baby giggles - I've got to get it on video one of these days.)

Jasper is an early riser (for those of you that know me well... you can imagine how much I just LOVE that -NOT!) But I actually do enjoy the quite moments with him in the morning. He's so expressive and happy. He likes to 'talk' to me and grin up at me. I snapped this photo one morning as we hung out on the couch - before everyone else woke up.
Jasper is quite the talker and here's some video to prove it!

Jade and Jordan are still playing piano. I took this picture and realized that it shows how long Jade's hair is now. She likes to have me style it but she hates the knots.

He has a little friend, Sadie. We have play-dates pretty frequently. Sadie was born about 3 weeks before Jas. While Sadie and Jas play I get time with Melissa (Sadie's mother, of course. LOL)

So I have some more pictures on my camera I need to download from the past weeks. The kids had field day at school. Jade had a field trip to the zoo. We went to Six Flags (twice actually) and Jade and I flew a kite today. So I'll try to get to downloading those soon and another update is around the corner.
Also, I've got Facebook going now... and, well my hope is to be more vigilant about posting there as well as updating here, etc. so on and so forth. So, really, if I can keep it up, everyone should be staying up-to-date. So if you have Facebook, add me as a friend.

I had so many reactions as I read through your post! I love the pic with Jeramis and Jas (who is smiling!). Jordan reminds me of James. I love Jas' eyes in the pic where he's wearing blue. Cute the 2 babies are holding hands. Are those your super-white toes? And last pic, those jeans are so cute! Thanks for updating the blog!
Haha, actually those are my toe-socks :) with my toes in them. I bought like 50 pair when we lived in Japan - I love them so much!
